A little bird lives with me, a very special one indeed! For this little fellow is mechanical, and sits in a cage that doubles as a clock.
There is a sphere at the center of the cage sitting on a pole. It's surrounded by a ring with numbers one to twelve that mark the hours, and a red arrow moves along it very slowly, showing the time. The cage is small, less than 5 inches (12 cm) tall.
And the little bird? Well, he moves sideways, as if pecking seeds on the ground. Tick-tock, tick-tock... Never gets tired. I watch him while I work, with a smile on my face. Tempus fugit, time flies, and another day goes by, dissolving like mist in the warm rays of the sun. The little bird doesn't care, after all he has time on his side. He keeps and eye on me. Tick-tock, tick-tock...

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well!
I finally got a wig for my ball jointed doll Rain!! I had been looking for one for a long time, and finally got it thanks to a seller I know.
The wig is made of real, braided hair. It is quite long, and comes with two red bows. All I need to do now is make sure it fits her well (it sits a bit loose on the head) and she'll be ready to go. Well, that's figuratively speaking of course; the girl is staying with me!

Frederika spends her days looking at me. Surrounded by her friends, she sees me work and eat and talk and watch video's on Youtube with absolute devotion.
And I cannot be bothered cos she keeps me company. That corner of the living room table would be so lonely without her, without them! Not to mention the dollies at the back. So many tiny eyes, all watching me while daydreaming dolls dreams.

The little marten dreams of chloroform and formaldehyde , of laudanum and glycerol, of fossils and a big scarab too.
Such is her afterlife; sitting on a branch she guards her treasures with dagger-like fangs, fast as lightning, her serpentine body the height of agility.
A born hunter, even in death so menacing and strong. Her blind eyes fixed on you, little marten of glycerol and chloroform.

Don't give me that look, troublemaker, I know it was you who broke that tea cup.
Who was it, you say? "A mouse?" Sure..., because it couldn't possibly be you. could it?
Well, go tell that mouse that he better start behaving, if he doesn't want to get into BIG trouble!
Off you go. No, wait, the price for that tea cup is a kissie. There, now you can go!
She put her little arms around me and said " I love you daddy!" And off she went to more mischief, while I stayed behind with a broken cup, and a big smile on my face.

She must be a least 120 years old, the beautiful young lady in the living room. From her vantage point in someone's house, she quietly saw the world change, and people around her grow up and grow old, then pass away into memory.
Time has let some traces on her too; a dent here and there, but overall it has been kind to her. And now she lives with me, watching how I live my life, and change. Until I'll be gone too, and she'll go on to grace someone else's life. Always tranquil, serene, and eternally beautiful.

The golden rays of the autumn sun invaded the old house like a search light, revealing the objects that hid in the dark, making them look like secret lovers in a park, surprised in their exchange of illicit kisses.
It was the time of the day when the little stone birds on the antique cabinet seemed to come alive, filling for a brief moment the silent room with their merry chirping.
Then the light moved on, and they fell silent, turning back to stone, waiting for the return of the sun's golden beams to awaken them again from their deep slumber.

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well!
This week I was thrilled by the arrival of a beautiful miniature clockwork race car; a Schuco Mercedes Micro Racer, 'red seven'.
Since the little car had a special sentimental meaning to the seller, I promised her to take some pictures of it in the garage of one of my dolls houses. So here it is, posing in front of one of the Triangs, showing it at the entrance of the garage (image 1 + 2) and in front of the house's porch.
Finally, the last picture shows it on display, together with other similar race cars, on a shelf in my living room. I hope you like the photo's. If so, leave a like and a comment, and see you next time. Thank you!!

Hi everyone!
To all those folks who will be celebrating Halloween today, have a good one!
Take care and see you next time!
"For she visited you in dreams
Her pale moon face shining bright
And chased away your fears
In the deepest of the night."
JPT
Wish you a great weekend, and see you soon!
Hello everybody, I hope you're well!
This little vintage Lundby lamp was kept in storage for a long time, because I couldn't make it work anymore.
So yesterday I decided to bring it to someone who knows a lot about both miniatures and electricity, and he repaired it for me! So here it is, sparkling like a jewel in the magical half light of my living room!
Now I think of it, I guess it's a bit symbolic for me too, after spending so much time without publishing anything here, finally 'the lights' go back on again..
Wish you a great week, and see you soon!
Rain, my little ghost girl, has a thing with poetry. Same for song lyrics and wise words.
The girl is very spiritual, you see.. Every time I find something that I'm sure she will like, or write some stuff of my own, I share it with her. And you know what happens next? She comes alive! And then I see her face, her fair, pale skin, her dark hair, and those intense, blue eyes that seem to come from far, far away. Then I notice a soft smile on her luscious lips, and a twinkle in her eyes. I think she feeds on dreams. Like most of us, she needs them to exist.
This time around I presented her with the lyrics of a song by the German 'metal' band Lunar Aurora, a sample of which is quoted here below. The song is titled "The Unknown Dead", and its lyrics are more like a poem, than song lyrics. Also, what's interesting about it, is that the music almost completely obscures the singer's voice, so it's very hard to understand what he's saying. It feels as if the words are buried just underneath the music, mixed with the earth and roots of the trees, like in a shallow grave..
"Es werde Nacht.... und es werde Finsternis." ("Night came, and Darkness came.")
"From bloodstained stargates to hellish forges
And sky-clad summits to the eeriest gorges.
But now depart for my road goes yonder,
That's all for now, folks. Thanks for visiting, keep safe, and see you next time!
Hi all, I hope you're doing well!
Here we've been under curfew for the past two weeks because of the covid. That means that everyone must remain inside from 21.00 hrs until the early morning hours. I must say it feels pretty odd not to be allowed to leave one's house after a certain time. If anything, this shows the value of freedom, which we often take so much for granted!
Today my day was brightened up by the arrival of this beauty! Her head and shoulders are made of porcelain, while her body, arms and legs are made of wood. She wears a very pretty dress made of old silk and lace. She stands about 24 cm (that is about 9 inches) tall. I couldn't be more happy with her! Her face has a warm, pensive look, as if she's daydreaming about something that fully occupies her mind. And when the golden rays of the late afternoon winter sun illuminated my living room, I felt I had to take a few pics of her.. The little daydreamer!
That's all for now, folks. Thanks for visiting, keep safe, and see you next time!

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well!!
I'm currently working on a little 'stage' to serve as a backdrop to my 'panzer wagon' (of which you can see a glimpse to the left of the below image).
The wagon, which I totally designed from scratch, was finished last year, but due to the lack of a suitable background scenery I wasn't able to do a proper photo shoot of it yet. That will change soon though, and then I'll finally write a nice blog about this very special project!
That's all for now, folks. Thanks for visiting, keep safe, and see you next time!

A little theater diva sits pensive while she waits behind the scenes for her turn to take center stage.
She's just moments away of lighting up the night with her beauty and grace, but for now she sits, waits, and dreams away...
