A Little Boat

A little boat rests perched on a wall cap inside the Centennial dolls house. I'm sure she's sharing her adventures with the miniature steam engine that chose the same spot to relax.

Standing Guard

An armored truck stands guard at a steam engine plant in what it seems to be a conflict situation. Ominous and silent, it sits immobile behind a wall like a predatory beast. The men inside the vehicle hoping that they will not have to show their teeth.

Rust & Steel Photography: SNCB Class 12 engine 'La Douce'.

 

 Hi all, I hope you're doing well! 

Today I'm posting an 'atmospheric' pic I took this evening of a very nice 1:160 scale train model, just for fun. It represents the beautiful Belgian Railway Company 'Type 12' steam engine.

This class of 'streamlined' engines was built between 1938-39, and remained in service until the 1960s. Only 6 were built, and of these engine No 12.004 is preserved in Schaerbeek, Belgium.

Just to illustrate how she looks in real life, I'm adding a picture of '12.004' here. Copyright belongs to the owner.

An ancient water wheel, touched by the autumn sun.

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well!

These late autumn days bring me lots of joy. The light of the sun is quite different than during, say, the summer months. It's warmer, richer, more... golden. And the sun 'hangs' lower in the sky as well, projecting its light into my apartment in an almost horizontal way, sweeping through the rooms as a search light that mimics the celestial body's trajectory through the afternoon heavens.

This sweeping light touches every object in its path, covering it with a beautifully subtle,  golden glow, and a sense of peace and tranquility.

One of the objects 'touched' by the sun is this ancient water wheel. I totally love it when this happens! The water wheel can be attached to a steam engine to make it work. Just look at that light....magical!

Royal Scot 6100

I've managed to acquire this deliciously aged, and rare Hornby Royal Scot 6100 'O gauge' steam loc body!! It was quite a challenge, because there were several other people trying to get their hands on her as well, but in the end it was for me!

She will remain 'as is', because no mortal can compete with the work of the great  'Master Painter' named Time. Instead, I intend to use her in a scene depicting either a derelict loc, or one in 'deep maintenance'... 

Below is a pic of how this loc would have looked like when complete and alive...
