Autumn sun

I love the autumn sun. It's warm, yet not hot. And it mingles with the shadows to create a distinct, dreamy atmosphere.

It's a feast of yellows, oranges, reds and browns, the typical "earth" colors. Time for introspection, time to turn inside. And time, also, for my little redhead to shine!

Autumn Clothes

Last Saturday I paid another visit to the best and most beautiful dolls house and miniatures shop in The Netherlands: "Het Kabinet" (The Cabinet) in Gouda.

The shop has such a huge collection of items for our wonderful hobby, that one keeps discovering new things with each visit!

Apart from factory-made items by several well-known brands, one can find the results of the "labor of love" by a number of Dutch artists on display. I've mentioned in a previous blog the paper plants and flowers of Elly. This time it was Jolanda's lovely jackets that caught my attention.

I purchased two, and immediately added them to an empty wardrobe which I had. Don't they look wonderful? Note also the little black shoes!

A New Painting

Hi Friends, I hope you're doing well!

Below is a pic of my latest miniature painting, titled "Autumn evening." Acryl on canvas, 7x7cm (2,75x2,75 inch).

I've decided to dust off my brushes and get going with some new stuff! And I must say that I enjoyed doing this one very much! If interested, I invite you to take a look at the other paintings on this blog. Thank you and have a great day!

Interiors (1)

As summer slowly gives way to autumn and then to winter, the outside becomes the inside, and, once again, we turn our attention to the magic realm of shadows.

The cabinet of little birds.

The golden rays of the autumn sun invaded the old house like a search light, revealing the objects that hid in the dark, making them look like secret lovers in a park, surprised in their exchange of illicit kisses.

It was the time of the day when the little stone birds on the antique cabinet seemed to come alive, filling for a brief moment the silent room with their merry chirping.

Then the light moved on, and they fell silent, turning back to stone, waiting for the return of the sun's golden beams to awaken them again from their deep slumber.

An ancient water wheel, touched by the autumn sun.

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well!

These late autumn days bring me lots of joy. The light of the sun is quite different than during, say, the summer months. It's warmer, richer, more... golden. And the sun 'hangs' lower in the sky as well, projecting its light into my apartment in an almost horizontal way, sweeping through the rooms as a search light that mimics the celestial body's trajectory through the afternoon heavens.

This sweeping light touches every object in its path, covering it with a beautifully subtle,  golden glow, and a sense of peace and tranquility.
One of the objects 'touched' by the sun is this ancient water wheel. I totally love it when this happens! The water wheel can be attached to a steam engine to make it work. Just look at that light....magical!

That's all for now, folks! As always, thanks for visiting, and please check out this blog from time to time for news and updates. Have a great one!
