Big Bow

In front of The Centennial stands a girl with a very big bow on top of her pretty head. Next to her sits her trusty Golden Retriever, a sweetheart that never leaves her side. She looks at the distance with firm and confident gaze. A subtle smile adorns her lips. Who is she, and what is she doing here? Is she somehow related to the Three Girls of The Centennial? So many questions tremble nervous in the air, but silence is the only answer they get.

As the night turns to day, and the cold light of morning invades the land, the girl and her dog vanish into the spirit world again. Outside the birds sing their happy song; inside all that remains is a memory, and the yet unanswered questions.

A Strange Encounter

The world of insects never ceases to fascinate me. They're all around us, billions of them, and yet they go largely unnoticed. Therefore it pays to slow down our hasty pace, and observe them as they go about their business. Their shapes, their colors, they're living examples of God's (some would say, Nature) endless creativity.

War Horse

Hi all, I hope you're doing well!

The First World War saw the introduction of a new, deadly weapon: the tank. First used in combat by the British in September 1916, the tank revolutionized modern warfare, and has been the spearhead of every land army ever since.

I've always been fascinated by the otherworldly appearance of those 'archaic' war machines of the Great War. So after seeing a video featuring a stunning replica of one of these monsters (a British Mk IV), I decided to pay it a humble tribute by using a still from the video as the basis to create something that would resemble a WWI photograph. I do hope I succeed in my endeavor.

The replica was constructed for Steven Spielberg's 2011 film "War Horse." It was based on original Mk IV's present at the Tank Museum in Bovington Camp, England. After shooting the film, the special effects studio that made the tank sold it the museum, which added it to their collection. The cool thing about it is that it's not just a static display, but can actually 'move around' through the mud like a real one.

I hope you liked my "WWI era photo" and please visit the Tank Museum's beautiful website and support them for the great work they do. I've put a link down below. Have a great week ahead!

Standing Guard

An armored truck stands guard at a steam engine plant in what it seems to be a conflict situation. Ominous and silent, it sits immobile behind a wall like a predatory beast. The men inside the vehicle hoping that they will not have to show their teeth.

Inside the "Amsterdam"

Piping inside the "Amsterdam" dolls house. Whomever constructed this incredible, old dolls house went to great lengths to give it a stunning level of realism.

The Ghostly Hour.

At night, the air is thick with echos of lives gone by;

as you can feel their presence in their absence.

A soft breeze, the stir of  a leaf, the chill of a moonlit night,

clouds floating by, translucent and ethereal, dissolving into nothingness

like the fog of the night, when touched by the warm rays of the sun.
